Portal upgrade from 7.4 to 7.5

Hi,

We are in process of upgrading our portal from 7.4 to 7.5 version. We have custom Webdynpro Java applications(based on NWDI).

I have gone through some links and understood that 7.5 is based on Java 8.

1. Along with Portal Upgrade, we need to upgrade NWDI and Migrate all custom WD Java applications.

2. Update NWDS to latest version which is based on Eclipse 4.4

How to migrate WD Java applications? Is this process same as before?

Do we need to do any code adjustments after migration?

Let me know if any thing else needs to be done?

Also do share any upgrade guide for 7.5 version.

Hello Satish,

The WD applications developed for 7.4 will work on 7.5. You do not need to migrate the WD application like you had to do when you moved from 7.0x to 7.1+. The architectural change was big there, that is why you had to migrate then. Now you do not need to migrate or run the migration wizard in NWDS. But it is not 100% sure however that your applications that you developed using JDK1.6 will need no adjustment with JDK1.8. Testing will be required.
