Configuration for Manual Billing

Former Member

Hi Folks,

I have a question related to configuring Manual Billing in ISU.

One of the clients have IS-U system and they have been using it for Gas. Now they want to implement Electricity also and initially want to start with Manual Billing only instead of full-fledged ISU Billing.

So could you guys please help me with the items that will need to be configured to enable Electricity billing through Manual Billing Process?

Does it need to have configuration on Device side as well?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mithun,

You will have to anyway maintain most of the configurations/master data even if you want to 'just' use manual billing process in IS-U.

Few of the basic things are as follows (and not restricted to):

A) New division for Electricity (spro)

B) All Billing Master Data like Rate Type, Rate Categories, Rate Determination, Rate Fact Group, Price, Facts..etc which are division specific are to be created and maintained.

C) Maintain Account Determination in EK01 / EK02 which is again has division, main/sub, acct determination ID - these depends on how do you want to post FI-CA documents to FI.

Regarding you other question - 'Does it need to have configuration on Device side as well?' - we can achieve the above without Device Configuration if the billing is based on purely flat-rate. This is dependent on the business process related to Device Management side like whether they have actual meters, how the customers are billed up on, how the meter reads are entered and used.

There could be even more, but it depends on the business requirement.

There are also few processes which you need to cater for like, what if the existing customer opts for Electricity for same Premise? how about dual fuel move-ins..etc?

Thanks,

Srini
