Hi,
I have mentioned Discon. Indicator- 1, Effective Out Date as 16.06.2016 with follow up material in MRP-4 view in material master of material to be
discontinued. The requirement still getting generated for Discontinued material rather than follow up material.
The following checks has been performed as -
1. I have mentioned Discon. Indicator- 1 and follow up material in MRP-4 view.
2. The material type 'PD' and base unit of measure have been same for both Discontinued and follow up item.
In order to get the result, following activities have been performed.
1. Planning file entries have been maintained for both materials.
2. Executed MRP in MD02 with scheduling as 1 and planning mode as 3.
Please note that I don't want the follow up material to be maintained in BOM.
Please suggest any setting or an activity which might be missed from my end.
Regards,
Nitesh

Hello
As per my understanding even if in the BOM, if the followup material is not maintained against the discontinuous material than also the system will generate the requirement ofthe followup material. It should not generate the requirement of the discontinued material.
Please share the MD04 for both the materials
and also have a look of the help documents (prerequisite) for the steps
Discontinued Parts - Material Requirements Planning (PP-MRP) - SAP Library

Hello
Please read carefully the following note:
43636 | Discontinuation control |
This note explains several scenarios where discontinuation does not work. In those case, you will see an exception message in transaction MD05.
If this is not the case, try to plan your materials using MD01 instead of MD02.
Regards,
Caetano
