What are the risks in installing SAP EWM in existing APO server

Nothing can be impact..you can use the same master data also ( which is maintained at global data level ).

you can install it, nothing will stop and no issues in installations but it is recommended that EWM should run on standalone SCWM/EWM system. There are several reasons behind it. You need to understand the system deployment options for EWM. You can read it on saphelp.com

No, seriously, what do you mean with "risk"? Installing SAP EWM on an APO Server is possible. If you should run it productively is a thing you have to think about. For that you should read the note 1606493, SAP EWM Deployment Options Best Practices.
