You'd need to be specific in what you need to enter as default for every entry and what you will manually maintain into the Excel page.
I use one of these scripts to automate material creation. I manually enter:
Material
Description
Document Version
Profit Center
Product Hierarchy
Procurement Group
MRP Type
MRP Controller
Procurement Type
Strategy Group
Individual/Collective Indicator
Quality System
Product Hierarchy
The rest of the required entries are done in the background so that between myself (materials management) and my counterpart (document control), we are standardized and in line with each other's entries. So, i made a dashboard of scripts for the 3 plants i maintain that allows entries en-masse as well as changes. It is used by myself and my counterpart.
I can give you what my primary script looks like, but your own is going to be wholly dependent upon your own company requirements.
