Hi All,
Can anyone explain the possible integration of EWM with other SAP Modules & the purpose of integration.here are the one's that i know
1. EWM with ECC
a) Integration with PP
b) Integration with QM
c) Integration with Batch Management
2.EWM with GTS , Can any one explain purpose ?
3 EWM with TM ( TM Plans & EWM Exexutes ex : transit warehousing )
4 EWM with EM ?
5 EWM with CRM ?
are there any other integrations are exist , can any one explain ?
Hi,
So you want an explanation what these integration possibilities are for?
1. EWM with ECC
a) Integration with PP - staging for production and follow-on processes (Overview of Production Integration Types - Advanced Production Integration - SAP Library)
b) Integration with QM - that should be clear, shouldn't it...?
c) Integration with Batch Management - and this as well...
2.EWM with GTS , Can any one explain purpose ? Important for foreign trade, export and import control, when you have goods under customs procedures in your warehouse. Introduction to Global Trade Services - SAP Global Trade Services - SAP Library
Customs Procedure - SAP Library
3 EWM with TM ( TM Plans & EWM Exexutes ex : transit warehousing ) These are two integration scenarios. TM Plans and EWM executes is one. Integration of Freight Orders (TM) in Shipping and Receiving - Shipping and Receiving - SAP Library
Transit Warehousing is a different scenario, where the warehouse is a part of the transportation process.
Transit Warehousing - SAP Library
4 EWM with EM ? "SAP Event Management allows companies to manage processes, inventories, assets, and partners by exception rather than monitoring processes that are running smoothly. It is able to recognize and react to unplanned events in the supply chain, to provide a single point of access for collaborative processes, and to measure business partners' performance." (from the documentation SAP Event Management - SAP Library)
Should say it all?
5 EWM with CRM ? .... I don't think there is a direct CRM integration...?
" are there any other integrations are exist , can any one explain ?"

Hello Vamshi,
EWM is a decentralized Warehouse System and it can be used even if other systems are down.
Please find the integration and Purpose
1. ECC-EWM
ECC is your leading system i.e all the orders or data will flow from your ECC system.
Then the necessary warehouse activities will completed at EWM then it will send back the confirmation to ECC and then only it will get updated in ECC.
PP,QM are used to pursue the same purpose as of it is used within other ECC modules,But integrating with EWM will give them some more features but their sole purpose is same.
2.EWM - GTS
When business is using Global Trade Services then you can integrate with EWM to leverage the trading business with rigid features provided by EWM.
3.EWM-TM (EWM and TM are part of SCM Business Suite)
In EWM 9.4 there is a direct connection between TM and EWM
TM is a Transportation and Planning module where it is used for freight order management.
So it's business who will take a call to integrate the EWM with TM,Say you have plant A/Sloc B where you are using TM which is WM managed then you must integrate it and if they are active with different plants then no need to integrate TM with EWM.
4.EWM-EM(EM and EWM are part of SCM)
Event management is used when you have already EWM -TM integration in place.
EM enables you to coordinate your planning and activities with your partner by exchanging information across your system.
5.EWM-CRM
There is no direct connection between CRM and EWM .It can be either routed from ECC system.
As you know every module has its own value and purpose and in order to leverage its function at its best we have to integrate.

Olet
