Duplicate printing of delivery notes to stop

Hello All,

I am facing a print issue via VL03N  , that the actual number of copies in printer parameters are getting multiplied in hard copies prints in that particular output type

Issue is  like this :

If the delivery note document page is 1 original  , then it Should print 1 page-  1 original plus 1 page duplicate . Totally 2 pages required . (2 sets) But   it prints 4 page . ( 4 set  – 2set extra ) This means , the number of messages 2 as marked below  in the printer setting  is multiplying by itself by the actual  total required (2) pages  and physical print gives totally 4 pages.  In spool , it just shows 2 pages correctly.

If the delivery note document page is 2 original  , then it Should print 2 pages-  2 original plus 2 pages duplicate . Totally 4 pages required . (2 sets) But   it prints 8 page . ( 4 sets – 2sets extra ) This means , the number of messages 2 as marked below  in the printer setting  is multiplying by itself by the actual  total required pages(4)  and physical print gives totally 8 pages.  In spool , it just shows 2 pages correctly.

If the delivery note document page is 3 original , then it Should print 3 pages original plus 3 pages duplicate . Totally 6 pages required . (2 sets) But   it  prints 12 page . ( 4 sets – 2 sets extra) This means , the number of messages 2 as marked below in the printer setting  is multiplying by itself by the actual total required pages  (6)and physical print gives totally 12 pages.  In spool , it just shows 2 pages correctly.

If in printer setting , if we give 3 as number of messages , the multiplication is as accordingly similar as above situation.

So, the issue is , some difference is happening from Spool to printer , where the required pages is multiplying to the printer set number of messages value.

Can anybody will advice any solution to this issue please?

Is it possible that your system is upgraded in the last few days?

Hello Kivanc,

Yes , its a custom smart form driver program. Will try de-bug , but meanwhile , if I give 0 , no prints , 1 means it gives 1*1 = 1 page hard copy , if I give 2 , then , it gives total 4 copies ( 2 sets)  instead of one set

if I give 3 , it prints 3*3 = 9 pages ...like that insted of only 3 pages . Its multiplying the same number .

If the original document has 2 pages actuals, then insted of 4 copies , it prints 8 pages

If the original document has 3 pages actuals, then insted of 6 copies , it prints 12 pages

So , this is the issue we face.

We are investigating a note SAP NOTE 1158640 seemingly meant for this issue. Working on that.

Yes, that value is as 2 as per configuration . Ideally , if the value is 2 , then it should print one original and one duplicate and to stop with that. But , it prints totally 4 hard copies. Means , total actual pages * multiplying by the value in number of messages.

So, this is the issue.,

Are you using a custom program to call your smartform/sapscript in nace? Try to debug it.

What happens when you set Number of messages to blank or 1. What happens when you make it, say, 3?
