Hello SAP,

We use Afaria Custom Client and Enterprise apps pushed to iOS devices.

Issue: One particular Enterprise app was working fine from long time and now suddenly it stops working. No error.

When i check on Software Inventory it is under Managed and DYNAMIC SIZE is '0'

Why this Dynamic Size turned to '0'

Env: SP04 HF19

iOS version: 9.3.5

Could you please suggest.

Regards,

VP

I think dynamic size will be Zero when the app gets corrupted.

Reasons are below:

1. iOS upgrade

2. App version does not support with new iOS version release.

3. Before upgrading iOS version make sure that all apps are up-to-date.

Resolution:

Re-install the affected app from Afaria custom client.

Regards.

Hello Tracy,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, application was on device prior to update. No apps affected but only one and for one user.

I have been observing now that many of the apps Dynamic Size is changing to '0' , may i know what would be the reason ?

Not removed, becz data store in it. I tried to push the policy from Afaria but no luck.

it is ENT App and it is under MDM.

,

I haven't seen any reports of dynamic size changing, but that may be due to changes in the OS recently as well.  I will keep my eye out for it, but at this moment I cannot tell you the reason.

If multiple apps have the dynamic size at 0, I believe that is a red herring and not the issue with this particular app.  Are you able to get a client log from the affected device?

Hi Tracy,

It id difficult to get the client log. As we are on SP04 HF19 and end user is on field work.

I hope this is related to iOS version upgrade issue.

iOS 10 is not supported with Sp4 HF19.  I do recommend that the customer updates to the latest Service Pack for current support.

VP,

Was the application on the device prior to the update? It sounds like it, but I want to be sure here.  I don't believe that I personally have ever seen a dynamic size reporting as 0.  That sounds to me more like it is trying to run but has not really installed or does not have enough resources.

Can you give me a bit more history on this device?  Have you removed the application and let Afaria repush it?
