Removal of Class hierarchy with CL2n, CL6C end up with Time Out

Hi All

We are experiencing a time out issue. We are trying to remove one class within a hierarchy. No characteristic values have been assigned yet but when we tried it with CL22n or CL6C we are ending up with time out. Are there any ways to execute this in background? Has anybody experienced similar in huge master data? (In our case it is Functional Locations).

for time out it must be something else , have you tried taking help of technical person and check what exactly is happening once you execute this deletion.

Also, please check if the classes hierarchy is already being used in configuration and if transaction document exist for objects with these classes, that can be also be issue.

Another suggestion is, build a new hierarchy in sand box a model one with just few classes and try to replicate the issue, if the error doesn't happen it will prove its data issue and you can investigate further but if that still exist you can even open a issue with SAP.

Hi Ritesh

Time out is happening because before removing thehierarchy link, SAP is checking all the dependencies (ie whether any of the upper level class charateristics hasbeen used in the lower levels etc.). We have already raised this to OSS. I will keep the thread updated.
