DVM and EWA

Hello experts,

I need your help to resolve the following issue with DVM. I'm trying to set up DVM for Solution Manager SP14 (Development) itself, but on the 9th step I got error "No EWA session found for the system SSD and client 200". For the error I found note "2284481 - "No EWA session found for the system<SID> and client<CLIENT>" error in Data Volume Management". Doing checks in accordance with the note, I didn't find any issue in the configuration. Could you advice what else I should check to resolve the problem?

Below you can find my checks:

2284481 (Paragraph 1) - refers to 2036442. From 2036442 I ensured that I got green lights for all sections "System Preparation", "Basic Configuration" and "Managed Systems Configuration" Saying truly, "Basic Configuration" has red light because of locked user SAPSUPPORT, but this doesn't matter for the error. Section "EarlyWatch Alert Management" is configured with activated DVM on step 5.3. Prerequisites are fulfilled.

2284481 (Paragraph 2) - RTCCTOOL has one red light for BPO. As I understand, it is not related to the problem.

2284481 (Paragraph 3) - Note 2030234 is implemented

2284481 (Paragraph 4) - Note 2115837 is not related to my SP level

2284481 (Paragraph 5) - see paragraph 1

2284481 (Paragraph 6) - “Managed System Preparation” is green with completed steps 6 and 8

2284481 (Paragraph 7) - for SSD 200 “DVM Active” Box ticked; TMW RFC and BACK RFC status’ are green; RFC users are updated and have the required roles

I updated roles from note 1830640 and updated user with them from Mass update function.

I also followed DVM FAQ, but no luck.

Hi Artem,

As per SAP Note 2284481 (Step 7), you need to wait for one week and create EWA report and see if DVM chapter is coming that report.

So have your implemented SAP Note 2284481 one week before? Are you able to see DVM chapter in your managed system EWA?

Thanks,

Manish

Hi Manish,

Following you advice I was waiting for a week (then I switched on another task and forgot about this issue). So, I still get red traffic light for EWA and the only thing I see in EWA is that my DB growths. No details what tables are advised for reducing. Just the following poor text:

The database size and database growth of your system SSD indicate that no immediate action is required in the area of Data Volume Management.

This report does not have a Data Volume Management (DVM) section focusing on data archiving and deletion because the collection of DVM-relevant data has not been activated for your system SSD. See SAP Note 2036442 for more information about how to activate the DVM content for service reports. Once the DVM content has been activated, information about the current state of your system SSD regarding Data Volume Management is provided, along with proposals about how to reduce the database size of this system.
As a workaround, the database size and growth per year for your system SSD were checked. Here, we found a database size of 170.82 GB and a database growth of 8.78% per year. These figures indicate that, from a Data Volume Management perspective, no immediate activities are required for your system SSD.

I suppose it should contain more information.

Regards,

Artem
