Hello Experts
What is the freezing BI indicator significance in EWM and where does the difference stock lies in EWM? (e.g 999 is the storage type in WM) What virtual space EWM uses?
Hi,
as you write about differences in EWM, I suppose the "Freezing BI Indicator" refers to the "Physical Inventory Indicator Freeze Book Inventory" flag in physical inventory?
Well, ever looked into the F1 help? Because I could not explain it better:
Quote: "If the parameter is set, the book inventory lines are determined during document creation. Otherwise, the book inventory lines are determined at the moment when the count is entered.
Dependencies
In the case of a product-specific physical inventory, only the current stock situation is determined.
In the case of a storage-bin-specific physical inventory, the entire inventory situation for the bin is determined.
Example
A warehouse manager wants to perform a physical inventory count in a paper-based warehouse in the morning. The manager creates the PI documents at 8:00 and asks his warehouse workers to finish the count by 12:00. No movements are made within the warehouse until 12:00. After 12:00, the daily work continues and products are picked or put away. The paper PI document count results are entered in the afternoon.
Since by default the book inventory is determined at the moment when the count is entered into the system, the book inventory determined would differ from the book inventory at the moment of the actual physical count in the morning. Differences would be determined that do not really exist. Therefore, the warehouse manager "freezes" the stock situation before the count starts in the morning when he or she creates the PI documents. This means that the count results are then compared against the book inventory at the moment when the count is entered into the system."
"where does the difference stock lies in EWM? (e.g 999 is the storage type in WM) What virtual space EWM uses?"
EWM does not use a storage type for differences. This is because the connection to the stock in IM is not done in the same way as in WM.
You will find differences in the Difference Analyzer.
