Some of our customers request that we ship our product (apparel) prior to the date on which they are allowed to actually begin displaying and selling the product (based on the license). We are looking for somewhere in master data to store this "do not sell before" date. Does anyone have any experience with this type of requirement?
Thanks,
Dan

Daniel,
Have you explored Listing/Exclusion functionality? It is tailored for this purpose, please search about it and you'll be rewarded.

Thank you for your reply. My experience with listings/exclusions has been to use them to stop materials from being added to sales orders for specific customers, etc.
In this case, we want to allow the order to flow as normal, but also have a date stored which we can transmit to the customer which says "do not display or sell this product in your stores before ____".
Does that make sense?
Thanks,
Dan
A few ideas...
If this is material-specific:
If you are using IS-Retail, there are some fields in MVKE, which look promising - e.g. VDVFL. Unfortunately I have no access to a retail system to play in.
Or you can use a special distribution channel status, which blocks nothing, and set some date in mm02, then you can print it on your documents after checking if it lies the future.
If this is customer- and material- specific:
You mentioned licenses, maybe you can enter the information as text. If this is not considered as good enough, probably you can add an additional date field via RVEXAKK1 and use it to determine if you need to print certain texts.
