SAP PI 7.0 to PI 7.5 Migration

Dear Experts,

As part of migrating ESR Objects from PI 7.0 to PI 7.5 we need few inputs with respect to transport movement.

1. We decided to move (Export) production IR object from PI 7.0 as a .TPZ file to PI 7.5 AEX JAVA.

Doubt: Do we need to create a Product and SWCV in in the PI 7.5 AEX before moving the tpz file

else

After importing .TPZ file will this product and swcv be reflected in SLD of PI 7.5 AEX

Request you to clarify.

2. Do we need to do SLD Sync between PI 7.0 & PI 7.5 AEX ( What is the best practice to be followed for SLD sync)

Hi Sai,

These are tentative steps -

1. Export all Software catalogue and system catalogue components from SLD and import same in 7.5 SLD.

2. Create required tpz files for all IR objects and import the same into 7.5 ESR.

    Before doing this, check whether you have any ccBPM interfaces or not because same need to replace using NWDSBPM in 7.5

3. Import ID objects using Directory Content Migration Tool .

    Before doing this, create required sender interfaces as this tool migrate objects depending on sender components. This tool will automatically convert all your CC of XI adapters to SOAP adapters, IDOC and HTTP to IDOC_AAE and HTTP_AAE etc.

4. Create all required HTTP and RFC connections on NWA and connected ECC systems.

5. Complete required configurations in resource adapter for IDOC connection.

6. Create alert rule in ID and configure JAVA mail client and schedule jobs if you had alert configuration in 7.0 system.

No , SLD objects need to be migrated.

Is there anyway to do SLD sync at a single shot from PI 7.0 to PI 7.5 AEX?

Else do we need to manually create the product and SWCV in PI 7.5 AEX. Please clarify

Sai,

Usually first Basis team has to create Business system and technical system then you need to export and import the Product from old Pi system to new one.
