Hi everyone,
I'm installing the SAP Netweaver 7.4 SR2 as Application Server JAVA,
and the installation stopped in Phase 'install instance basics SCS01'.
Error message:
Instance NTC/SCS01 [PARTIAL] did not start after 5:10 minutes. Giving up.
An error occurred while processing option.
>SAP NetWeaver 7.4 Support Release 2
> MS SQL Server
> SAP Systems
> Application Server Java
> Standard System
> Standard System
- OS: Windows Server2012 R2
(I installed using AWS-AMI 'Windows_Server-2012-R2_RTM-English-64Bit-Base-2016.08.11')
- DBMS: MS SQL Server 2012
(I installed the SQL Server Database Software Automatically with SQL4SAP)
- SAP Kernel: K_742_U_WINDOWS_X86_64

Hello Masaya,
In your log file it's showing that your gateway (gwrd) process is stopped. Please check the dev_rd trace file and see what is causing your gateway start-up to fail.

I checked the dev_rd trace. I forgot to insert private dns (hostname.ec2.internal) into hosts.
So when I inserted that, the problem was resolved.

Hi Masaya.
1. Could you check the kernel level in CI & Application sever ? Application server kernel shows 7.21 I think you may required to upgrade the kernel 7.4 ..
2. Just try to restart the system and then check the same.
