How to make some cells non editable in excel for a key figure which is defined as editable

Hi,

Our requirement is to make certain cells of a key figure as non editable in the excel front end. This key figure is essentially defined as editable in configuration. Some use cases for this requirement are:

1. Price changes should not be possible at aggregated levels but should be possible at dis-aggregate level

2. A key figure becomes non editable if some other key figure is populated

For similar requirements in DP we used Cell_input() operator. Do we have something possible for IBP as well?

Hello Vivek

There is an option to use the EPM formatting sheet in connection with a password protection of the template.

There are 2 steps.

1) Add your key figure in your EPM formatting sheet, in the list of "Formatting on Specific Member/Property". Here you have that "Use" column, where you specify which cell format should use. Deselect everything and just check the "Lock" box from "Protection" formatting. After you've done this, go back to your planning view

2) in the IBP add-on, go to tab "Template Admin" -> Advanced -> EPM Sheet Options -> select Protection tab

Here you select the radio button that says "Protect Active Worksheet", type in your password and you're done. You can also add/remove some other restrictions of the users in the "Worksheet Protection" area of this window.

I hope this helps.

Hi Vivek,

For your point 1, i can suggest to make the key figure as 'system editable'. This will allow you to upload the key figure at aggregated level and system will store it at base planning level as per the dis aggregation expression.

Thanks,
