SAP GUI does not support ActiveX controls

Hi All,

Got a small but annoying issue here: I am using the SAP GUI for Java (version 7.40 rev 😎 on my MacBook at the customer's site.

The GUI itself works very well but with some transaction like CG42 and CGSADM I got this error "SAP GUI does not support ActiveX controls" (there is a little screenshot attached).

Are ther any Mac users that have had similar problems? And were able to fix this?

Thanks for your help!

Kr,

Tim

ActiveX does not support MacOS. This simply isn't possible, I'm afraid.

I keep a Windows virtual machine around on my Mac for those few occasions when things only work in Windows. This is one of those things...

Hello,

the wording of the message is somewhat misleading.

What it means, is that the component which is required to run a certain transaction, is not available in SAP GUI for Java (as a Java Bean), but only as ActiveX to be used in SAP GUI for Windows.

There are many components, which have an implementation as ActiveX for SAP GUI for Windows and as Java Bean for SAP GUI for Java. But there are cases, where only an ActiveX is available, e.g. in case of 3rd party controls, which exist only as an implementation for Windows.

(see also note 454939)

Best regards

Rolf-Martin
