Hi SAP expert,

My client have unique sampling procedure which every GR of purchase order, QA team always use 3 samples from 3 different location in container (front, middle, and behind). If there is reject material from that 3 samples, QA team will pick up another 3 samples again and execution inspection again.

From that process, Which one from SAP QM standard sampling procedure that I can use?

Thanks and regards,

Anita

Have you researched the use of sampling schemes?

This can drive seconday sampling requirements if a failure happens in the first set of samples.

Hi Anita,

Please note that Sampling Procedure is used to calculate the Sample Size required for any specific inspection testing. This sample size determined by Sampling procedure (Tx - QDV3) is a function of whether you choose to have a fixed sample, or 100% inspection, or Use Sampling Scheme or Percentage sample and every one mentioned here has it's own importance. For example, 5% sample will take 5% or total GR stock as sample for testing, where as 100% will mean 100% of the stock is checked by quality. Similarly, if you have used 'Sampling Scheme' then sample size is pre-defined based on lot size, as maintained in the Scheme (Tx-QDP3). So, this process is linked to "QUANTITY" or sample size created for the entire inspection lot.

Any business can creates their own sampling procedure, if the SAP defined procedures are not sufficient. You can check this in table QDSV-ERSTELLER = SAP or Else. Normally, sampling procedures with sampling scheme are generally created by SAP, based on ISO standards. Similarly if you check the table QDPK, you will see which all Sampling schemes are been created by SAP or created by business. Based on the right combination for both, you can use the appropriate one.

There is another factor called Sample Drawing Procedure which is linked to the Inspection plan or routing at header level. What it does is - it creates the sample by the process you make a sample. Like in your case - you take 1st sample form front, 2nd sample form middle and 3rd sample form behind, to create a unique sample for testing. It doesn't normally influence the total sample size to be created form the total stock.

It seems, your process can adopt pooled samples for further inspection. To achieve it, you can refer the below thread - http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-63644

Thanks,
