MES PRINT ISSUE

Former Member

Hello all,

There is a strange print issue in our MES system. In two weeks ago, the print function in our system started to meet with some problem. Some important clue is:

  • A service exception occurred: This could be due to the WSIL configured is not appropriate. Please check the destination configuration to make sure that correct WSIL path is provided.
  • Document printing failed: PDFDocument Processor failed to process RenderPDLRequest Due to the following Reason

        can't parse argument number urn:AdobeDocumentServicesWsd/AdobeDocumentServicesVi/document

The detail information is in the attachment.

The most strange point is that we don't change anything of the configuration and the print function suddenly cannot work. After some time, some case is 30 minutes, some is 5 minutes, the print function will be recovered by itself.

Please give me some advice.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Teson

Hi Teson!

Without exactly knowing more details, first thing that comes to mind is an update for printspoolers ( especially if running under Windows. ( see MS16-087 for reference)
The respective KB has been published mid/end of July, and I do not know your Patch - Cycle, but please check if it is correllating with the beginning of the symptoms to be sure.

Update Print drivers / Add a Trust / Installing the specific driver on a client might also solve the issue.

Usually, and especially if not changing settings on SAP side, the problem is in the handling of the spool request on OS level of the receipient/client.

Hope this gives you a lead, and feedback would be greatly welcomed.

Cheers,
Christian
