SAP GUI Convert different profile formats

Hello, I have an issue about new landsscape file format...

I already have SAP GUI 7.40 PL9 installed and also NWBC 5.0 PL13 .. so I#m using landsscape format

Now I try to include a server side configuration file additionally.

Unfortunately this file on our server still has old 7.30 SAPLogonTree.xml format and I'm not able to convert this file an supply it on the network...

So in general:

How can this SAPLogonTree.xml file be converted into a 7.40 landscape format without loosing my local data files?

Deleting my local XML files seems not to be a good option...I want system to be appended.. not replaced

Is it in general possible for SAP to supply customers with a kind of split screen editor for different configuration files .. with import and export and convert functionalities for single system data or complete files.... ?

This would be a nice place to also offer a conversion option triggered by a button, as this conversion is already done during first saplogon start after 7.40 PL 4 upgrade (if NWBC is also installed).... so it should be not that complex to start this conversion also manually by a button.

Best functionality would be if user can import configuration files directly into a specified work area...... maybe this functionality should be only available for admins...

I can't imagine to be onliest one with these needs .... I think a lot of SAP people will like this idea as well... as the time goes by.. an configuration file editor as part of the SAPGUI is needed since a long time.. especially for developers ...

If I try to supply a server side configuration file additionally:

I currently get this message:

Appreciate any help ..... because all previous and similar discussions are also still in status: not solved

Best regards

Thomas

I guess My friends already put an answer for that in the below thread,

Not quite an answer for my special question, as I already have a functional landsscape configuration..

I don't really like functionalities where I first have to delete complete files to add single system entries...

My landscape configuration has been converted from a saplogon.ini already ... at first start of NWBC some time ago.

This saplogon.ini file has been a developer related version where a lot of development related systems are included (last 10 or 12 years). Now I also need some entries of a support related saplogon.ini or an old SapLogonTree.xml file on our server...

But as mentioned above I want to merge entries of this two files ....

There's no such example of merging configuration files or entries even if all entries are completely different.

Besides this example above it seems not to be possible to supply an old XML file as server based, if system has already switched to landsscape format...

My question towards SAP is quite simple...

If SapGUI can detect wrong formatted (server based) configuration files, send this error popup above, ...and can also convert saplogon.ini and SapLogonTree.xml files initially:

Why it is not possible to process same functionality later on and mix up additional configuration files, marked parts or even single entries using an embedded Export/Import/Convert functionality (for different formats) ?

Simple example is if a colleague gets a completely new set of customer related systems for a project.. He/she then has to send me a screenshot.... and I'll have to enter these manually?

Maybe there's already a third party tool I don't know... but easiest way would be a two way Split Editor embedded in SAPGUI or NW/SBC  for this .. wouldn't it?

Or did I miss something here?
