Validation in SAP MDG

I need to display pop up messages in MDG when I am  doing validations in it, mean to say that if i had did a validation that industry sector should be chemical then it should allow user to enter C(chemical industry) in the field and if he is trying to select any other value for industry sector then information/popup message should be displayed to user. can you please help me in this.Thanks in advance.

You can achieve this using CHECK_MATERIAL Function in USMD_RULE Tcode .
