Is maintenance certificates impacts?

If maintenance certificate (slicense) expires in development and quality systems and the production system is up to date..... Is it impacts and what will be happen?Is it necessary to renewal?

You have to have permanent license installed for your SAP system. If you are not upgrading you system in near future you can  leave without maintenance certificate but you need it when you want to patch your system.

Just delete the expired one and install new certificate.

Hello Sai,

There will be no impact on the systems,maintenance certificates are required only when you update ABAP systems through SPAM / SAINT and for Java systems through SUM.

So update them before you are starting any maintenance activities.

Hi,

Maintenance license are checked when you do any maintenance activity in your  system for example: during patch or support pack upgrade the system will check the maintenance license and will prompt you to updated the same if it is expired.

else nothing happens to system even if maintenance license is expired.

However in Solution manager there is function will checks the maintenance license expiry date in all the manage system and update the licence automatically if they are going to expire.
