Hello Sai,

Easy approach is  building the new system using standard SAP Homogeneous System Copy procedure.

Under is the link for System copy guide

https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000002672&_EVENT=DISPLAY&_SCENARIO=0110003...

As you mention you are new , you can utilize TDMS later on for a reduced set of data from production using time slice option in TDMS. Extra effort required to setup TDMS in landscape

thanks,

Hi Prasad.

1.  You can use the SAP TDMS to build the test system from the production. Refer the link

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50f3f47e-4c16-3110-a6aa-f4f131f01...

2. SAP Standard method do the system copy from the production to test or sandbox system.(With same space is required) and the clear the very old data

Hi

Yes, You have to perform the SAP Homogeneous system copy from production system export and target system import.
