Access BI-Plattform with Lumira Desktop from the Internet

Hi all,

we have a Lumira-Scenario in our company. As there are many Lumira-Desktop-Users, there is the need to access the BI-Plattform from the internet. (without VPN)

It is possible to access from the internet via the BI-Launch-Pad and a Proxy: https://company.bi.de/BOE/BI and it is working fine.

But what do I have to maintain in the preferences in Lumira Desktop (Network) to get access to the BI-Plattform? (for accessing and saving the lms)

• Beeing in the intranet it is working fine with: http://<hostname>:6405/biprws.

• How does it work from the internet? We already opened the port 6405.

Does anybody has experience with this issue. All entries I have found are concerning about intranet access problems. (which is not my problem :-))

Hi Alexander,

I dont think there is capability of connecting to BI Platform via internet without VPN from Lumira Desktop. We had a Lumira Cloud deployment option until v1.28 which allowed you to connect via internet.

If https://company.bi.de/biprws doesn't work, then you won't be able to connect - this address needs to be translated by your proxy or whatever is controling your extranet access to intranet , to http://<hostname>:6405/biprws.

thy for your reply.

The adress https://company.bi.de/biprws is translated by the proxy to http://<IP-adress>:6405/biprws but it is still not working.

The only difference ist that the IP is used and not the hostname.
