Afaria 7 and WinMobile 6.5

I have a customer using Security Manager for WinMobile 6.5 Pro devices ever  since Afaria 6.6. Using Afaria 7 up to SP4 still has Security Manager. It is a Security option in a Configuration Policy for WinMobile.

But with Afaria 7 SP5, Security Manager for WinMobile was dropped. The manual for SP5 just states the following where Security Manager was documented in earlier versions:

Note:

The Security tab has been removed in Afaria 7 SP5 release

"

Why was this security feature dropped?

What are the options now for my client?

Hi Helga,

Sorry , I don't know why WM security feature dropped since Afaria 7 SP5.

Many features have been dropped in Afaria 7 SP5.

2054198 - What functionality is dropped in Afaria 7 SP5?

If you want to add this feature to Afaria.  You can post it to Idea Place.

Thank you for your suggestion to go to Idea Place. I have requested access since I have never been there before.

Still, I was wondering if anyone has an idea about the current options for my ct. Staying on SP4 ??

Helga,

I wouldn't recommend staying on older code.  I believe DSM was dropped for compliance reasons.  I do not believe we had any other replacement options at this time.
