Hello all,

We have an SAP Portal installation 7.31 sp7.

We searching for some information to be improved for patch this installation to SP17 or 18.

What is the benefit to go to latest patch for SAP Portal 7.31. And what we need to be attentive on before we patch this installation?

Thanks for any advice.

Reza

Dear Reza,

Hope you are doing good.

An enterprise portal consists of many Software components that are bundled together. We have released many patches for several components and when you upgrade to the latest SP, then all the involved components will have the latest bug fixes. You are not going to find a document that has all the changes, but say for example in your existing Sp 07 server is the JCo connections are hanging for any reason, the latest servercore patch (Sp 17) will make sure that the CPIC keep alive ping feature is used as stated in SAP Note 2274565 - JCo: Long running client RFCs interrupted by network issues

and that you get a appropriate exception.

Many such features are valid with the latest SPs.

Hope this helps.
