Hi Experts ,
We had a requirement from our users to approve workitems without logging onto SAP
So , we provided the solution of sending e-mails to SAP from outlook , with the decision,
We had done the inbound e-mail configuration following the note 455140
1,creating a userid wfoffline as system user and assiging the e-mail id
with subdomain wfoffline @eccdev.xxx.com
2,
creating the RZ10 entries
is/SMTP/virt_host_0 *:*;
icm/server_port_2 PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000,TIMEOUT=180;
3, Activating SAPConnect in SICF , proving the login credentials
4, providing the exit name and recipient address in SCOT in inbound processing.
The exchange server people , have created a username wfoffline and subdomain 'eccdev.xxx.com'
and created the routing rules to point to our dev server.
Our unix admin ,
has added eccdev.xxx.com in known hot list of send mail to accept mail from that domain.
After all these configurations , We could successfully receive emails to SAP and process the workflow further
I could check the incoming mails in SOIN
But , one day , we started receiving errors when we tried to send e-mail to SAP from Outlook
we get postmaster replies saying
"could not be delivered. The problem appears to be :
-- Recipient email address is possibly incorrect
Additional information follows :
-- 5.1.1 <wfoffline@eccdev.xxx.com>... User unknown "
we checked all the setting made from SAP nothing changed , even there were no changes done from
Exchange server side ,
but we started receIving these errors the day they restarted the app server
So our guess were that some profile parameters would have changed ,
but whatever settings we have done and parameters maintained as part of this config are same,
Could anyone , show some light on what could be the reason,
that it suddenly throws these errors.
what is the significance of default domain in SCOT , should be the subdomain name : 'ECCDEV.XXX.COM'
right now it is the FQHN.
Hi ,
Sorry for the late resposne , the issue was resolved , it was actually a firewall issue from the exchange server side , Closing the thread.
Thanks,
Prakash

If wanted to close a thread, then would like you to close properly. After marking answers as helpful, a thread gets closed only if on the top, beside the TOPIC name, there is something for you called "Mark as Assumed answered". You are to click also that one. Anyways you recognize that marking your own answer does not give you any point or does not seam very meaningful. The closing thread ways & details can be referred to

So that you can recheck your settings accordingly, I would first like to guide you to,
Configure Outgoing Email in SAP Basis Services | PostalMethods.com
https://scn.sap.com/thread/3427879
The parameters value are clearly mentioned in the SAP portal itself
SMTP Configuration Guide - SAPconnect (BC-SRV-COM) - SAP Library
So, please have a check on the given areas & do come back if this is not working after that also
Thanks,
