Current we have a SAP EP deployment as foundation for portal that gives the end-users navigation + launch access to diverse applications - Portal built-in apps (WD4J), and external applications - SAP and non-SAP.
As we aim to modernize and improve on our portal user experience, I've designed a solution architecture in which deployment of Fiori LaunchPad is the new user entrance. The WD4J applications will be replaced by Fiori Apps, preferable standard ones (COTS), and custom-developed for those that have no sufficient fitting standard variant.
A challenge is user mapping. In the current deployment, Enterprise Portal user mapping is utilized for SSO from portal accounts to exposed applications.
What are the options for user mapping in a FLP setup? I'm aware of one, via FLP@EP. But am not in favor of that as we seek to consolidate our landscape, and plan to replace the EP deployment by FLP on a Gateway server in role of Fiori FES; and not to extend our landscape with both EP as FLP/Fiori deployments.
Hi William,
Where is the user information stored for authentication?

Hi Masa,
Clarification of context:
Current we have a Supplier Portal composed of SAP EP + SAP ECC:
We want to migrate from EP usage to FLP, resulting in Supplier Portal that is composed of SAP FLP + SAP ECC, with the FLP deployment on the SAP GW.
Question: (how) can we maintain the same user mapping in this architecture?
Regards, William.
Hi William,
I think that ERP has Business Partner concept and there is Supplier company and supplier employees relation in the ERP side.
For SSO topics, take a look at .
SAP Fiori Launchpad on HCP is also a good solution for Supplieres. You can use Identity Provider service on HCP.

Hi Masa,
So basically the FLP concept on itself as no comparable user mapping feature / administration as EP.
If needed for SSO to launched Apps; the SSO is not handled by FLP upon App launch, but it must be handled in the activation-context of the specific App.
Examples for that:
Thanks, William.
