Problem opening an reversed Oracle12c Model

Hi,

did someone faced an issue with reversed Oracle 12c models? I'm not able to open the model after I have created it via the reveres engineering process.

PowerDesigner simply hangs... Memory usage stays constant, CPU usage is at 50% but nothing happens. Model size is about 16MB.

We are running on PD 16.6.0.0 (4971)

Thanks,

Rafal

Hello Rafal,

I'm using the last version of PowerDesigner and I don't have any problem.

Can you test with PD 16.6 SP01 PL01 ?

Thierry

Hi Thierry, with the newest SP it seems to work! The 16.6 SP00 PL00 is nothing but a big mistake... not only when we are talking about reveres negineering 😕 BR, Rafal

Hi Rafal,

Take care with the current version with Oracle 12c.  I logged a new issue this week when converting PDM into LDM and it has been confirmed to be a new bug.

As workaround you can use DBMS definition for Oracle 10 or 11 if you don't use specific characteristics of Oracle 12.

Hello,

I confirm the problem is specific to ORA12C DBMS and will be solved in PD 16.6 SP01 PL.

Hi Arnaud,

another observation - reverse engineering (when picked DBMS is Oracle 12c) takes forever ... switching to 11g solves the issue...
