Copy results from inspection lot 03 to 04

Dear experts,

Do you know if SAP QM standard functionnality for inspection results copying can fulfill next business need :

- Copy an inspection result from Inspection lot 03 to inspection lot 04

- These to inspection lots are related to the same process order

If yes, how to configure the system ?

But I don't understand what previous inspection lot stands for ?

How to determine which IL is the previous one ?

In your example we are on 09 IL, but in my case I want to copy results from 03 IL to 04...

Any idea ?

Why 09 lots?  those are related to reinspection.

An 03 lot is an inprocess inspection lot that is generated by the process order.

The 04 lot is often created either at process order release or the GR of the material being made against the process order.

Thus both the 03 and 04 inspection lot would have reference to the same process order.

This is all standard SAP and is pretty basic.  The copying of results from the 03 to the 04 is also standard functionality. 

This is all farily basic info and should be available to be gleaned from SAP help files, Wiki's SCN threads.

Please do some searching and researching on this please.

Hi Craig,

I did following configuration in "Settings for Copy Inspection Results Function" :

• Inspection Type : 04
• Control Insepction Lot : Manual and Automatic
• Control on RR : Manual and Automatic
• Origin TL : 02
• Data Origin RR : 02
• Selection : 300
• Mapping : 200

On destination inspection plan, I maintained "Previous Inspection Lot" as origin results data for the relevant Master Inspection Characterisitc.

My point is : How to automate the copying of the results ?

Origin of TL should be 04, not 02.  (read the help file on this field, F1)

Data origin should be 04 as well.

From result recording, I have a pop-up to chose source inspection lot.

I assume that if I want the copy to be automated, I necessarily have to implement some BAPI's like QEC_SELECTION / QEC_MAPPING ?
