SAP HANA Dynamic Tiering backup usning backint

0 Kudos

Hello experts,

We are facing problem with backup of SAP HANA databse (SPS 11) after dynamic tiering activation. We are using certificated backint tool and the databse isn´t set as multitenant.

Before dynamic tiering activation everithing works fine. Now we are getting this error message: [447] backup could not be completed, [110112] Extended storage backup error : [SAP][ODBC Driver]Error during backup/restore:

Have you got any ideas what can caused this error? Is there some specific backup configuration for dynamic tiering?

Thank you very much for any advice

Hei,

And please check below:

Backup tools certified for SAP HANA SPS 10 are not yet certified for Backint with SAP HANA dynamic tiering SP 10. An add-on certification is expected. See 2172499.

Hello Johan,

Thank you for your replies 🙂 .

1) In the backup catalog I can see many succesful log backups every day. But when I use your sql statement with "service_type_name = 'esserver' " there are no records. It´s wierd.

2) We only use data and log backups

3) We have SPS 11 and the backint with SAP HANA dynamic tiering should be certified for our tool.

Is there any option how to find more informations about backup failure then only error message: "[447] backup could not be completed, [110112] Extended storage backup error : [SAP][ODBC Driver]Error during backup/restore: " in additional information field?

Thank you 🙂

Please also check that you do not use unsupported options !

Systems with dynamic tiering support:

Data backup

Log backup

Database copy

Point-in-time recovery

Recovery to a specific data backup without using logs or log backups●

Third-party backup tools certified by SAP

Systems with dynamic tiering installed do not support:

Storage snapshots

Backup of files with customer-specific configuration settings

Hei,

Is there (or was there) already an log backup running ?

SELECT state_name FROM m_backup_catalog MB,

m_backup_catalog_files MBF

WHERE

MB.backup_id = MBF.backup_id

AND

service_type_name = 'esserver'

AND

entry_type_name = 'log backup'
