Resource Management - Resource Overview

Hello folks,

I have a few questions about Resource Management - Staffing Overview and Resource Overview screens.

(We use BP in PPM with HR integration.)

1. From what I understand Resource Management - Resource Overview (FES screen) can get data only if Resource Pool is setup in Portfolio and Project Management Administration and a Resource manager is assigned to it. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If that is the case, Resource manager would Portfolio and Project Management Administration access. Is there  another option without that access?

2. "Assigned Effort" represents Resource hours for the Role, but not by Task. This can be seen on the Staffing Overview and Resource Overview screens.

We would like to have the "Work" hours assigned to the Resource on the "Task" tab entered on the Project, as information on the Staffing Overview and Resource Overview screens.

Is there a BAdI, method or customization possible for this?

3. How do we do a mass change of Availability for all Resources to 5 days/week and 8 hours per day. Right now it considers 8 hours for all 7 days of the week.

In reply to your first question, there are two possible ways by which resources will appear in the Resource Overview:

- via the Resource Pool (as you have written)

- and/or via Organizational Management (i.e. if your user is defined as a Resource Manager or Candidate Manager for a  relevant organizational unit in transaction PPOME). For this to work, you must ensure that the evaluation path for organizational units is set up correctly (this is something for HR specialists).
