Hi Experts
We are builgng MDG-BP 8 SP04
I want to automatically determine the BP Grouping against the CR type.
I would like to achieve this with BRF+.
I created a BRF+ function called "DERIVE_BU_GROUP"
When I simulate the function the rule set does derive the right value but nothing happens during the derivation cycle in the CR.
I think this is because the BP Grouping field is a pull out menu in the UI.
How can we achieve this without coding?
Thanks in advance
Hi Le,
Make sure to use the following naming standards DERIVE_<Entity Name>.
BU_GROUP is part of BP_HEADER entity.
Can you try the following
1. Create a derive function DERIVE_BP_HEADER
2. Add the change request type as context data object AND bu_group AS RESULT DATA OBJECT
3. In ruleset based on the CR type populate the BU_GROUP in the rule

Many thanks srini
The Functions works now. I can check with simulation. Thx
Unfortunately in MDG UI we have a pull out menu with that field. And the value is not inserted in the UI and when the BP is created in the backend it uses the default BP grouping:

Hi Le,
I am not sure if this is a referenced field.
Why dont you try badi USMD_RULE_SERVICE?
There are technical limitations by using BRF+ for referenced fields.

Hi Le,
Do you mean to say, u wanted list of BP Groups based on the CR Type, not defaulting BP_GROUP based on CR Type??
