Substitution check at Project level

Hi All,

I need to know that it is possible from substitution if I assigned 'person' at 'Person Responsible' field at Project level so after creating WBS, automatically 'Person Responsible' is assigned but in changed mode so I can do that once assigning 'Person Responsible' at project level, at WBS level it should be available in 'Display' mode only.

My second question is that,at project level,I'm getting finish date at project level so is it possible through substitution that when I create project, it's date should be blank.

Hi Faizan,

Instead of substitution, assign the default person in standard project template. This should work as you want.

Hi Aditya,

I have multiple project profile and on that profile 'person responsible' can be change as per requirement so I can't make it default 'person responsible' at project profile level.

Is there any other way like I try to do with substitution but not able to get desired result.

Can you tell how to cover this issue within SAP standard.

I have tested this as after doing, I'm getting default value once I save it but my issue was different as I have define 'Person Responsible' as mandatory and when I assign person responsible at project level, at WBS level it should show in display mode as now I'm able to change it at any WBS level.

So is that possible in SAP standard?

Hi Faizan,

You can achieve this in Standard SAP. Please follow below mentioned steps.

1. As mentioned in earlier reply, set the default Person Resp. at PD level.

2. Write a substitution rule at WBS level that copies Person Resp. from PD. (see below screenshot)

3. Setup the field control for WBS where you will set the Person Resp. field Display-only in T-code OPUK. (see below screenshot)

P.S.: Here Project Manager is Person Resp.

Hi Aditya,

I have created 'substitution' on which I have define prerequisite as you have shown in above screen shot but when I'm going to assign substitution, I'm only getting 'PRPS' table field no 'PROJ' field there.

I have tested again so from OPUK, when I turn 'Person Responsible' field into display than no at WBS level only than no need for any substitution.

Hi Faizan,

PROJ-VERNR is available if you search for VERNR in the popup dialog. (see below screenshot)

Also I would suggest you should keep the substitution rule for Person Resp. at WBS level as well. Reason for this is that, if you have availability control check on then the Person Resp. will get the warning or error message when budget is consumed after certain %.
