BPC SP25 - User Option "Send Parent Data..."

We have recently upgraded to BPC SP25; noticed in the user options, "Others" tab, "Save Data" section, a possible selection for:

Send Parent Data to the Server on "Save Data"

What does this option do if checked?  I thought send data was only for base level members, parents calculated by the cube in the back end?

It's an old feature, not SP25

Parent data can be sent and processed in write back badi for disaggregation for example...
