How to control generation of STO(08) ILs

Hello Experts,

I have a scenario, where business wants a prior IL for material being shipped to location 1 but when same material has to be shipped to location 2 the IL is not needed as this location(country) does not ask for inspected material.

Business is using using 08 type inspection lot. So how can this be driven...QM info record? How?

Your expert help on this is greatly appreciated.

The 08 has to be activated in the receiving plant for the inspection lot to be generated.  Not the sending plant.

So this is really pretty easy.  Activate the 08 in receiving plant 1, do not activate it in receiving plant 2.

Nothing needs to be done in the sending plant.

Now if you are talking about an IL for production purposes prior to it leaving the mfg plant, that would be either an 04 or 03 lot.  This can't be controlled based on receiving plant because normally at time of production you don't know where the material is going.  You might consider creating a manual 04 lot once you know where the batch is going.

You might also consider making two material numbers instead.  One for inspected material and one for un-inspected material.  Plant one drives demand on material one, Plant two drives demand for material two.
