Dear experts,

Is anyone got a change to upgrade MDG - F from 7.0 to 8.0 with Finance active ?

we are facing issue after upgrade and cost center implementation, as we are using edition as 0G_ACC at 7.0 but at 8.0 BC sets are available with 0G_ALL .

Issue here is there should be one edition and we are already using 0G_ACC .

any idea how to do that , any one did that ?

Thanks in advance,

Varun

Hello Varun

Functionality wise there are lot of differences in MDG 7 and 8. Regarding MDG-F specifically you have to can work with your old edition by retiring MDG 8 edition as its impossible to change the data with the new edition type. Its better to retire the 0G_ALL edition and continue using own. Other way out is do the functional upgrade with the new futures and new edition if it is in budget.

Hi Kiran,

Thanks for you reply, we differently have budget and we are eager to adapt 8.0 features .

I believe you are suggesting to retire 0G_ACC edition , how it is possible we have lot of data .

We are running GL account at MDG 7.0 and now with 8.0 we will be running cost center  along with GL account .

All your input and suggestions are welcome.

thanks Varun

Hello Varun

I am saying to retire the MDG 8 standard division and don't use it at all. Don't add BC sets for edition. Use your own editions and start working on it. Regarding Cost center if you want to use assign hierarchy for every cost center then you need to reload the entire data again.

In this case you have 2 options - load the data as it is or go with new fresh data and migrate it using MDMGX tool or NWBC - file upload and use new MDG 8 edition.

Look into the new CR type as well as there is lot of difference in 7 and 8.
