SAP IDES doesn't start now

Former Member
0 Kudos

Hello everyone

I have a SAP IDES of ECC6 in Win7 system, using MSSQL2005. It has worked for a few time, and now it doesn't start up successfully.

I'm sure it is not date issue.

Is there anybody can help me to analyze the log and find out root reason? Thanks a lot!

The error log in SAPMMC shows:  "SAP-Basis System: Signal c00 received by operating system"

The log files [dev_disp] and [dev_ms] in folder work as below:

Hi Liu,

Although it is not a recommended, but I tried on Last Sunday on Windows 7 Ultimate-64Bit, & to my wonder, the installation goes fine without any issue. So I think as because its IDES, you can try a fresh installation for training purpose as it would save all of your time or if some essential data is inside that IDES SAP, then can try for a Homogeneous System-Copy, given the current circumstances.

If you want to try again installing, then it is better you try in Windows 2003/2008/2012. If it was running properly in windows 7, Anyways after stopping the SAPMMC, can you check in SYSLOG for the last date it was run properly? Can you backdate your system-time to that last running good time shown in sapmmc & then you start the SAPMMC as because when we start the sapmmc, it takes all system environment including the system date & time also. If it is not a DB problem, then in Windows+R -> services.msc, the database service should be able to restart, could you check that 1 also? Try with the Kernel at least 720 version also. If you have the installation setups that were used to install in the same system & same OS setup, then you may give it a try-Although it is not a recommended suggestion to install SAP in Win7.

Exception : c0000005 (Access Violation)

So, did you run a windows-update any time recently where your Windows Security definitions get updated or is your Windows update is turned on? Else can do is run the new IDES for 2003/2008/2012 through Guest OS softwares like VMWARE. Or can have the running IDES entire-system virtualised through that VMware.

The Dispatcher is crashing.

That exception code (c0000005) means that the process made something wrong in the memory and Windows terminate it in order to protect Windows itself or other process.

The kernel 700 is not supported anymore.

You can try downloading and applying the latest patch for it, or upgrade the kernel to 721 (SAP note 1713986).

Thank you very much!

But I only have this version IDES, so I can not upgrade IDES.

My new question is, can I uninstall IDES and install it again to get a working IDES again?

Yup - you can....nevertheless: Windows7 is not among the supported operating systems for a SAP IDES system...maybe you were lucky that it lasted for so long any change to the Windows7 system (such as MS patches...) might lead the problems with the SAP systems and cannot/will not be rectified by SAP ;(

Hi

IDES system should be installed on server edition, so it's not possible to be installed on Windows7 directly.

IDES ECC6 with SQLServer 2005 can be installed on WIN7 64 Enterprise directly, it had been working for more than one year before I met this problem.

Hi Liu.

1. On windows OS have you enable the firewall or UAC?

2. have you change the SIDADM password at OS level?

3. Execute the command "R3trans -d" using SAP SIDADM.

No firewall or UAC;

No password change for a long time;

Run 'R3trans -d' get error as "2EETW169 no connect possible: "connect failed with DBLI_RC_LOAD_LIB_FAILED"

Thank you!

Hi,

Can you post dev_w0 logs during the issue time?

Hi

it seems that you have an network problem. Please check also the wp traces and check if the connection to the DB with R3trans -x works successfully.

the result of R3trans is "2EETW169 no connect possible: "connect failed with DBLI_RC_LOAD_LIB_FAILED ".

And the process Disp_work.EXE Status is "Running but Message Server unreachable", then it change to "Stopped".

I check SQLServer is working, I don't think there is any DB login problem.

Another question, can I backup current database files, then re-install SQLServer or IDES and keep current data in IDES?

Thanks a lot.
