Hi Experts,

I am trying to import JAVA EXPORT on A/X server.

In the middle of phases, /tmp FS got 100% full and sapinst gui remains stopped.

Please advice, How to free up /tmp to continue the import process.

Best Regards,

Vamshi

hi vamshi reddy,

i think you better extend file system.

or

delete old tmp files in trans directory and check the space and restart your import.

Hi,

I had the same situation. I've deleted old tmp files. And resumed the system copy.

You need to check the /tmp file system and see what can be deleted to continue with the system copy. If there is no option to extend the /tmp file system then the other option is to move the sapinst_instdir to a different file system where there is a space and create a symbolic link in the /tmp file system to the new location. Restart the sapinst tool.

Hello Vamshi,

You have two choices.

1. Extend/cleanup /tmp.

2. Abort the import and restart afresh but this time setting the environment variables TMP - TEMP - TEMPDIR to a directory where you have sufficient free space.

Generally it is never a good idea to start sapinst out of /tmp.

Hi Vamshi,

Can you try to extend /tmp and retry? I guess the directory sapinst_instdir is located under /tmp.
