SNC Implementation Information

Dear Friends,

We are looking for below functional process activation and planning to develop from scratch and test in sandbox

1. Purchase Order Collaboration.

2. Subcontracting Purchase order collaboration

3. SMI

Collaboration Method: SNC Web portal

Could any one can help me what are the things required in implementing these process from scratch

1.Basis activities

2.Technical activities

3.Functional activities

4.what are the Basic activities needed to perform to make system ready for SNC configuration

Please help me if any one have documents or any links having useful information

Hi Satish

There are lot of activities involved if you are going to implement these SNC functionalities from scratch and you need to take help from Basis and PI person for this. I will try to mention few activities in brief which will give idea about the work involved.

1. Set up connectivity between your ECC > PI > SNC systems.

2. Create mapping in PI system for various types IDocs and XML

2. Activate business functions as per requirement. like SNC_GEN1

3. Activate distribution model.

4. Activate time series 9INVM1 and DFC01

5. Activate ODM structure.

6. Create Active planning version and model

7. CIF master data like product, plant, vendor, PIR etc from ECC to SNC.

8. Assign MOT in T lanes.

9. Create BP type person and assign user ID and relevant roles to user ID.

10. Make general settings for purchase order.

11. Create and assign PO confirmation approval profiles if you are going to user this functionality. 

12. Activate alert types. 

12. Create partner profiles and condition records in ECC to trigger various idocs.

13. Create and assign Z confirmation control key for PO relevant for SNC.

14. Activate/Inactivate various validation checks as per requirement.

if you search SDN forum then you will get more details about all these activities and it will also help you to resolve any issues if you face during implementation

fyi, Our SNC application is the part of SCM system in which already APO being used

1. what are the basis activities involved other than connectivity between the systems

2.what are the ODM structures and ODM related activities need to activate ?

3. Time series 9INVM1 and DFC01 are SNC Specific ?

4. What are the planning object structure need to activate SNC Specific?

Would be great full if you have any documents related on the information you have provided

Hi Satish,

Here is the answer of your questions:

1. what are the basis activities involved other than connectivity between the systems?

Selim: There can be Roles & Authorizations activity can be required. Also SNC requires PI configuration to connect the interfaces between SNC & ECC. they can handle that part.

2.what are the ODM structures and ODM related activities need to activate ?

Selim: SCM - APO works on Live cache structure. But SNC works on ODM structure where you need to activate. Please check the OSS notes: 1178483 , 1338993 , 1583976

3. Time series 9INVM1 and DFC01 are SNC Specific ?

Selim: Yes, these steps are SNC specific actions.

4. What are the planning object structure need to activate SNC Specific?

Selim: This questions depends on the cases which you would like to use in your landscape. If your scope is limited with the above objects then SMI02, INVM1 and DFC01 is well enough to cover.

1.what basis team will do on roles and authorizations ?

2.Time series 9INVM1 and DFC01 are SNC Specific as u mentioned , any other i need to activate in my prototyping for above process?

3. as I mentioned my scope above, planning object structure SMI02, INVM1 and DFC01 are well enough to activate SNC Specific ?
