Engineered to Order via Make to Order Process

Hi All,

I have a situation when one of of our branches that engineer to order products. As this is only 1 branch and a small part of our global business I was wondering if we can use the standard MTO process for this.

My thought was that we can create a WBS thru routing operation and have the engineering department as a work center.

Any thoughts or experience's with this type of solution.

Hi,

From your description I understand that you only want to be able to book labor from engineering department into your production cost? You do not want to use make to order in terms of taking some order BOM and re-engineering it to fit your customer needs (e.g. change / add / delete components) ??

If it is only about labor adding I guess enhancing your routing as you described it should be enough,

You question seems to be related to ERP PP module rather than to SAP ME solution. So, you'd rather search for a proper space to re-post the question there.
