Hi,
we want to use a laserprinter
KonicaMinolta BizHub-3301p Printer via SAPsprint (on Win2003Server)
but we could not get that working together
in SAP (SPAD) the printer is configured as:
device type ZWIN (a copy of SWIN)
spool server VIRT_SPOOL
device class Standard Printer
host-spool Access method S via SAP-prot.
and host-Printer \\printserver\printername
Destination host printserver
Error "unable to reach the remote host spool system"
printing from winServer (testpage) is o.k.
SAPsprint on that printserver knows the new Printer (Printer is named in .dbg-log-file)
================================================
we are using and printing on other Printers connected through the same print-Server, that works very well,
so the printserver can be reached well.
any idea ?
Hi,
the message means that the actual physical server that is mapped to logical server VIRT_SPOOL cannot connect to port 515 on destination host printserver. It does not have anything to do with the printer itself.
Note 10758 contains some more hints to solve the problem.

Olaf

Hi,
the hint for other people facing the same issue:
i just have found the mistake,
during maintaining new printer in SAP, (TransactionCode SPAD)
there is on the 2. Panel "Access Method"
in line destination host (on the right side) a button for (additional) connection options,
to klick on that button delivers an extended view and additional fields
to fill in the LPD-port-no. 815
that (LPD_port-no. 815) was missing in our issue.
(this gui SPAD is a good example for that extremely poor design and very bad usability)
Thanks.
Christoph
Hi Christoph,
I am also facing similar issue with Konica Milato bizhub C358 printer. We have already maintained port number in SPAD tcode. Using remote print server for printing with access method U. Sprint is working with Admin user. Spool is getting successfully completed. Enabled the trace for SAPSPRINT and it is returning RC 0 but still could not get a print output. Any idea what the issue might be? We could not spot at where the error might be and feels like reaching the dead end.
Warm Regards,
Udaya
