Hi, all.
Our env is EP 2004s SP11 + NWDS 2004s SP11.
We have 8 Web Dynpro Java developers and they use the same EP machine
for deploying and run their own WD Java application.
And we got frequently deployment error of SDM
"Cannot log in. There are already active sessions."
i know the reason in our case(some developers deploy to SDM at the same
time even though SDM doesn't support multiple sessions), but with 8
developers with same business hours, this is too frequent and stressful.
Is there any workaround to avoid this stressful situation?
Any SDM parameters, say, retrying option or something like that?
Best Regards.
Sejoon
Hi,
This error can also come if you have your Remote GUI SDM session open.
Thanks & Regards,

Are you using NWDI(JDI) or are you developing projects ?
I have not faced this issue so often in NWDI.
You may also use Developer Workplace which installs a J2EE engine in the developer's system and he/she may deploy their application to their local system and eventually to the central instance of J2EE engine. If you need Adobe/IGS functionalities, you will still need to deploy to the server rather than deploying it to J2EE engine(Developer Workplace) in your system.

Hi, Subramanian.
Thanks for your answer.

Yes, we use NWDI and this EP machine is for each developer's
testing before they check-in and activate to DEV machine..
And we also considered installing Developer Workplace(J2EE engine
only) in each developer's machine. But due to the following reasons
we gave up.
- ESS/MSS(FPM) development is impossible. Even if developers have
installed EP, too many installations and configurations!
- Too much hardware requirements. More than 2GB would be necessary
for pleasant development environment of J2EE engine and NWDS.
Best Regards.

Thanks all.
i contacted SAP support and there seems to be no special SDM parameters
for this.
So, just manual and administrative efforts like the following
- to adjust developer's deployment time(well, usually impossible. just let
them wait a few minutes and retry again and again...)
- to use another server machine for deployment
i really need some enhancement of SDM for this restriction...
Best Regards.

Hi Sejoon
I can understand your problem but I dont think any workaround is there for that issue...
