Mat-to-Mat posting with consignment stock

0 Kudos

Hello everybody,

we have the following, simple situation:

We want to perform a material to material posting with consignment stock. Nothing else.

When trying this, we get the following error message:

As I know, the movement type is determined by the /SCWM/TIMB* tables. In most cases, when posting something, initially posting string reference 411 is found according to /SCWM/TIMBWA. As we are just posting material to material unrestricted, we should usually get the posting string reference 309 according to /SCWM/TIMBWAXTRA. But /SCWM/TIMBWAUSG determines 311 as PSR, when consignment stock is posted with PSR 411 (without changing the consignment stock usage - usage: C to C).

AND it looks like the system takes /SCWM/TIMBWAUSG earlier into account than /SCWM/TIMBWAXTRA. Otherwise, we wouldn't end up with 311 in our case.

Now, we get to the core of the problem:

The TIMB-tables are system tables and therefore not to be customized. We should instead use the customizing transaction "Define Customer-Specific Movement Types". So in our case, we would connect the PSR 311 to Mvmt-type 309 to get a proper posting.

BUT, in /SCWM/TIMBWAUFC, field combinations for posting changes are defined for the posting string references. Here, it is defined that 311 doesn't allow product changes and 309 does. But these is also taken into account when customizing the Customer-Specific Movement Types and we get the following error message when trying to connect 311 to 309:

My question to you guys: What can we do to make mat-to-mat posting with consignment stock possible, without changing SAP own system tables (and probably mixing up the whole movement type determination...)

Hi,

not really a consigment specialist...

but "We want to perform a material to material posting with consignment stock. Nothing else." - does this make ANY sense?

I believe the error message says it all already:

"For ERP movement type 311, the following field cannot be changed: Product

Message No. /SCWM/ERPINTEGRATION110

Diagnosis

Due to your entry, the system found a movement type with which the goods movement is communicated to the ERP system.

However, this movement type only permits changes to specific fields.

Example: for a posting change product-to-product, you cannot simultaneously change the stock type.

Procedure

Reset the given field to its original value.

You might need to enter the posting change in two steps."

Now, you do not want 311, but 309 - have you tried that in ERP directly (with a non warehouse managed storage location)? Because that does not work for me either...

A big chunk of our warehouse is occupied by consignment stock, and sometimes we need to change the product ID. (e.g. some of our POs are created manually and a clerk switches numbers when entering the MAT-IDs...).

Right now we are performing the steps you mention as a workaround:

  1. Posting out of C-usage
  2. Changing product ID
  3. Posting back to C-usage

But of course, the Business requests to save two out of three steps - and here we are with the requirement.

Your hint with posting in ERP is good, didn't think about it. So it looks as if we need to define a new customer specific movement type in ERP which allows the posting and map it to the posting string reference in EWM in /SCWM/TIMCBWA (IMG Transaction "Define Customer Specific Movement Types")...

Hello Martin,

What is your scenario ?

Because for  posting consignment stock we use Item category.

Hence you can make use of consignment stock category with copy of 309 movement type.

As said above, the scenario is just a simple posting from one material (resp. product) number to another, but with consignment stock.

/SCWM/POST

Product: ABC ---> XYZ

Owner: MNO ---> MNO

Usage: C ---> C

The category for postings (doc.cat. = SPC) allows only item category DLV as far as I know. I would like to hear how this can be used in our case. As explained in my post, we couldn't connect 311 to 309 because of /SCWM/TIMBWAUFC.

Hello Martin,

Yeah you can do it.

Tx :/SCWM/POST

Select " C " in usage filed i.e Consignment stock.

let me know if you stuck anywhere.

No, you misunderstood me.

The source and destination usage is "C". We don't change anything at the usage, we only change the product ID (and batch if necessary):

Please try it on your system. I would be interested, if you receive the same error message as we do.

The error screenshot, the reason for the error and the setting is explained in a detailed way in the first post, please read it.

You don't have to provide a WPT when posting from one material ID to another, the default one (usually 4010) is fine.
