I am setting up new Oracle DB server for migration of SAP ECC from old DB server. Since it is like for like migration, No OS or DB version change will happen.
My source is running on Oracle 11.2.0.3.3 hence target will also be on this version. I am following below process.
1. Server build and OS build
2. Oracle GI (i.e CRS/Clusterware) 11.2.0.3 installation
3. Apply PSU patch (p13919095_112030_Linux-x86-64.zip) that is downloaded from Oracle support site.
Patch 13919095 – GRID INFRASTRUCTURE PSU 11.2.0.3.3 (INCLUDES DB PSU 11.2.0.3.3)
4. SAP DB migration
Now my question is,
1. Is it ok to apply GI PSU patch that is downloaded from Oracle support site? or do I need to get it from SAP site? if so then what is corresponding GI patch number in SAP?
2. As per my understanding, Database home patches are called SAP bundle Patch (SBP) and these should be downloaded from SAP site? Whereas GI patches do not fall under SBP. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Abhi
Hi Abhi,
You cannot get any patch from oracle. You can only get patch from SAP side.
Please refer to SAP note 1656659 to get the patch. Also I checked the latest SAP GI patch collection includes 13919095 , so sap note 1656659 is suitable for you.
Best regards,
James
