Source file getting deleted in SAP EASY DMS

Hello Experts,

We have implemented DMS for our productive environment.

During create document, when we attachment some documents from "SOURCE" folder, (Desktop of windows based system)document is created successfully.

But when we delete the created document from SAP easy DMS. The source file which was on Desktop is also getting deleted.

Please advise on how to address this issue. I have verified DC30 settings too.

Hello Anand,

The solution to your problem is described in SAP Note: "1888457 - Local file is deleted when user deletes document in Easy DMS"

Below are the details, please apply the solution by updating your registry key in Windows or upgrade to a new Easy DMS version as suggested by SAP.

Symptom

In SAP Easy Document Management System, when user deletes a Document Info Record(DIR) which has an original attached to it, then the file stoted locally is also getting deleted.

Reason and Prerequisites

Program Error.

It is standard behaviour. Many customers do not want this behaviour. User needs to maintain the registry key "DoNotRemoveLocalCopyOnDeleteDIR" (of type DWORD 32 bit) with value 1 under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\EasyDMS\General"

The next available Patch or SP of SAP EASY DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT 7.1 SP04 Patch 5 in standard.
