Component to Kit Supersession (Material Substitutuion)

Hi

We have a requirement to sell kits, but the components are also available in the warehouse. So if the customer place the order for the kit component, the item should be replaced by the kit and the component shouldn't be sold. Kits have BOM with all the components and are built in-house against the sales order. Does standard SAP support the replacement of the kit component with the kit itself?

If I am a customer and I wish to place an order for 1X8G DDR4 from your web page, because I can see it in your price list, then probably I don't want to purchase a 2X8G DDR4 kit.

If you show me only the kit as available for purchasing, I will think about the offer (I might agree to buy it or I will move to a different site).

Can't you simply hide/filter out the components from your web shop if you never sell them separately? Most probably the components have a different material type or at least a different item category group, different material views etc.
