Connect to external SQL Server from Application server running on OS400

Hi,

I have a situation where I need to connect to an external SQL server form SAP Application Server running on OS 400. I will be giving connection details at DBCO. Can and one suggest me how to configure ODBC and where do I find .so files for the connection.

Hi Christoph,

I cannot use UD-Connect since we don't have J2EE Server. We only have ABAP server as of now.

Hi Manoj,

ok, but it is pretty simple:

If you want to connect to MS SQL Server from System i, you do need either a J2EE Engine via UD-connect or a windows appl server via DB-Connect - nothing else will work ...

A windows appl server can always be installed additionally and does not need much horse power.

Hi Volker,

Thanks for the suggestion. will consider that.

I would also like to try connection DB2 from SQL Server 2014. instead for trying to connect SQL Server from OS 400.
