MDG-M : External material assigment

Hello Expert,

During create materiel, system automatically navigating to next screen with asking for materiel no.

we would like to assign external number not tech key.

Can any help me with which config is missing ?

Hi Varun,

In MMNR please assign a number range external to the Material Type that you want as external number range.

In this way no temporary number will be assigned & system will ask you enter an external number.

its marked as external. Its also navigating to next screen from initial screen without any input.

Can you please confirm that Is it ONLY external? As you can assign both external & internal number ranges to same material type

Also, when u say , navigate to next page, do u mean you are able to Submit the CR even without entering the number?

Hi Varun,

The Material Types are assigned in a group and you can set the internal or external number range to that group. If the group form which you are using the material type is assigned an external number range( as you have confirmed  above), then the system will not allow you to submit a CR without entering external number for the material. Navigation to any other screen can be en expected behaviour.
