Hi All,
I have installed a new dialog instance and it is not able to connect to Oracle .Kernel release 720 patch 700
The CI and DB instance are up and running.
R3trans -d gives following error. I am unable to paste the log hence attached the same.
The startsap r3 command gives the following message.
Database is not available via r3trans.
Database must be started first.
Please help.
Thanks
Rahul
Check if the environment variables are set correctly.
Check if the tnsnames.ora file present at TNS_ADMIN location is correctly set.

Hello Everyone,
Willi Eimler - we have reinstalled the Oracle client and the path to instantclient is mentioned in the env variable. But still get the same error. Permissions are set as well.
Sriram - Kernel levels are same. The KBA didn't help in my case.
RB - Environment variables are set correctly. Compared it with a working system. The TNS_ADMIN is set as well.
Please help with this issue. I get exactly the same error as I got earlier.
Thanks
Rahul
Hi Rahul.
1. Is the SAP CI & DI Kernel release and level are same?
2. Refer the SAP KBA 1860519 - SAP fails to connect to the database

Hi Rahul,
Typicaly a not correctly installed client software results this error. Please verify the Client software installation ant the permissions on the files of the Client software.
Best regards
Willi Eimler
