Defining Correlations

Hi all,

I would like to know how to go about defing correlations. I know what co-relations are and their advantages etc. I just can't find the correlation editor.

Hi sonia,

Correlation is used only in ccBPM. You can find it in BPM editor(Integration process).

Hi,

First in IP. define the Correlation id in the correlation list , this you can identfy the right side bottom window,the place where we are creating the container variables.

there is a small menu dropdown click and select the correlation list and give the correlation variable and click on the button in the top of that window , or you can navigate from menu also to correlation editor.

Another problem I am facing is that when I click on Involved Messages it just doesn't show up any Message Interfaces or Message Types and I know for a fact that I have defined both of these.

You have to define container variables in container elements,then u will get message interface in involved messages.

Hi Sonia,

You can find the correlation editor in Integration Process in IR. Please use the following menu option in Integration Process Editor:

View -> Correlation Editor.

Hi Sonia,

Correlation is used in Integration Processes to link related messages.

You can find one practical example of Use of correlation in the Integration Repository, under the SAP BASIS SWCV in XI.Namespace: http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Patterns

Open the 'Integration Processes' tab in 'Integration Scenarios and Integration Processes' and open the integration process named 'BpmPatternCollectMultiIf'. It shows a BPM with a fork (3 branches), each containing a receive step. Receive step uses correleation.

And by the way, when you build your own process, you can find the Correlation Editor by opening the Process definition and clicking the icon besides the header 'Graphical Definition', and choosing 'Correlation editor' thereafter.

Hi Sonia,

You can use correlations when you need to assign messages to the same

BPM instance. Messages can have different structures but the key

on which you base the correlation needs to have exactly the same value

for one BPM instance.
